Adjusting to the new normal of Alert Level 2

13 May 2020 - 9:00am

It’s so positive to see more businesses planning to open at Alert-Level 2. The new normal. Thank you so much for your patience throughout Level 3 & 4. We look forward to supporting you throughout Level 2 and beyond.

Peak volumes expected

Initially, we are expecting continued peak volumes, with most NZ businesses operating at Level 2. With distancing and other protocols in place, it is a challenging environment to pick-up; process, and deliver freight. We are doing our best to get your parcels to your customers when expected, however please be aware we are still working to a delivery schedule of 3-5 days, to cope with the continued high volumes of freight and this may continue for some days to come.

Please wait before calling us
As expected with the increase in volumes, phones and customer services teams are busier than usual. We are doing our best to answer your calls; emails and help you.

Due to distancing and other safety protocols, staff numbers in our Branches are not always at full capacity and call-wait times may be longer than usual. Please use our online tools where possible and only contact us for crucial issues.

Delays to rural delivery areas
The volume of freight being passed on to rural mail contractors has increased dramatically of late also, which has created capacity issues on their daily runs. We are processing our rural freight in a timely manner each day but cannot predict when the deliveries that we forward on to them, will be completed. Please be patient and we would appreciate if you could refrain from contacting us regards a rural delivery query, so we can handle the more pressing issues we are encumbered with.

Contactless pick-ups and deliveries will continue

Pick-ups
Please continue to have a pick-up space available for our driver that is safely distanced from other people for contactless pick-ups.

Deliveries

  • Contactless deliveries will remain the norm throughout Level 2
  • Getting access to locked premises

If you have a locked premise and still want to receive parcels, please make a clear and safely accessible delivery location available for our driver so they don’t have to knock and wait. Our drivers will not be able to phone you and wait for access to your premise.

New to sending parcels to home addresses with prepaid tickets?
You may not have realised that home deliveries require a Residential ticket. These can be purchased online here.
Check Residential Delivery Zone from Address Checker.

We will continue to add answers to your questions about changes for Level 2.
Thank you so much for your patience throughout Level 3 & 4. We look forward to supporting you throughout Level 2 and beyond.

Keep safe,

Your team at Post Haste Couriers
