Update with NZ moving into Alert Level 3 soon

21 April 2020 - Midday

To Our Valued Customers

New Zealand's committed team of five million has made solid progress in the battle against COVID-19. It is heartening to be preparing for Alert-Level 3, which is coming into effect after ANZAC weekend at 11.59pm on Monday the 27th of April.

Keeping safe and avoiding transmission continues to be a key focus at personal, business and national level for us all. The disciplines and processes Post Haste have put in place as an essential service during Alert-Level 4, will continue to keep parcel receivers; our customers; our couriers and our staff safe... as long as we all continue to do our part. While Alert-Level 3 will allow more of our customers to resume trading – the additional safety measures our business put in place at Alert-Level 4 will remain.

On the frontline, Contact-less Deliveries and pick-ups are vital – so as your business opens, please allow for safe distancing with your courier for both pick-up and delivery. If your business is re-opening, and you need a courier pick-up/s – the simplest way to get your courier services back online is Book a Pick-up Online; using your pin number.

If you are establishing a new business offering and need assistance in setting up e-commerce or 'contact-less distribution' fast – contact our specialised team.

Home Deliveries have seen massive growth during Alert-Level 4 – and will see more expansion during Alert-Level 3, please understand that it may take an additional delivery time period of up to 3 to 4 days for goods being sent to residential zones. Please take this into account, especially when packaging perishables and planning your items despatch.

Our delivery priority in order of importance continues to be; medical, pharmaceutical, educational and perishables. Where 'essentials' can be prioritised – they are. Staffing and courier levels across the country are not at full strength due to COVID-19 restrictions. We are using a combination of measures such as staggered-shifts; physical distancing; additional sanitising and personnel working remotely, to maximise safety and minimise any chance of our branches becoming a transmission node.

Safety first means there may be additional time taken to deliver some freight and there may be a delay in standard response times to queries. We do encourage customers and parcel receivers, to make full use of our handy self-service online tools – these allow you to easily understand what is happening with your courier items, and leaves our team available to deal with exceptional incidents if they arise.

As well as moving essential deliveries such as pharmaceuticals and personal protective gear, we have been called upon to assist the community with deliveries to vulnerable and at risk people across New Zealand, we are so proud of our people's commitment and contribution to our communities over these tough times... just a couple of examples are the work we have done getting food parcels to vulnerable kids through KidsCan and working with the Ministry of Education to get learning packs to kiwi kids who need to continue with their education.

For these great efforts, we thank our couriers and the rest of our team all around New Zealand.

Keep safe... the Crew at Post Haste Couriers
